Made for cosy nights in with man’s best friend, this impeccably presented lodge invites those with four-pawed pals to escape to Mid Devon. Also excellent for summer stays, the property sits beside three further lodges on an 11-acre estate with ample outdoor space, two lakes and plenty of room for pets to explore. The single-storey property sleeps a total of six guests and up to three dogs, complete with ample open-plan area indoors for pals and pets to put feet (and paws) up. Despite its peaceful, rural location, the property is just 3 miles from the M5 and within easy reach of so many coast and countryside destinations that are always pet friendly.

Notice the grassy lawn space, private patio and hot tub as you step inside this fantastic holiday home. Set tails wagging when exploring your surroundings, finding three attractively presented bedrooms, each with its own en-suite, positioned around an open-plan space with a lounge, kitchen and diner. Bring your dog’s favourite beds and blankets from home to create the cosiest snooze spot in one corner, perhaps by the warm embrace of the wood burner in the corner of the living room. Here, you’ll also find cushy seating and a Smart TV to fill your evenings with. Finally, find a separate utility room just off the main room, ideal for storing pet equipment, coats and shoes in between walkies.

Walking routes can be found in abundance close by, perfect for mixing up your daily routines for exercising your dogs. In the nearby village of Sampford Peverell, follow the canal pathway to admire the beauty of the local area, perhaps moving towards Tiverton (6 miles) where you’ll find an ancient castle and some pup-friendly spots for refreshments. If you’re happy to drive a little in search of adventures, you’ll be pleased to find the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (7.5 miles) and the Exmoor National Park (12.5 miles) nearby.

The lodge location felt fairly private, superb views, excellent layout, bedrooms good size beautiful views, bathrooms well equipped except poor mirror placement in ours had to bend down to view. The outside patio great and jacuzzi was appreciated. Old wooden equipment let down and no throws for couches yet advertised as provided. Village Stamford PRead moreeverell was not a walkway. We cycled and the lanes were extremely narrow and cars coming at you at speed were dangerous. Enjoyed stay dogs loved walks Hide

These are great lodges, really spacious bedrooms all with own bathrooms, very modern. Views are fabulous across the lake if you have a fisherman in your group they will not be disappointed. We went to celebrate a birthday so made our own entertainment, hot tub was great used a few times, had 3 dogs with us lots of grass for them to enjoy.

We really enjoyed our stay. The lodge was high spec, comfortable and clean with commanding views across a nearby lake. The tranquil setting was ideal. We have just had a lovely week at West Pitt Lodge and lakes. So much so we have booked another week for next year. The Lodge was just perfect, home from home. Fishing was good too! Nothing to fault at all. 20 minutes' walk to the local pub, The Globe and local Spar, with great directions from the owners, on the in-house information. This is a really lovely place to stay. We actually stayed here before 2 years ago but it was booked by our daughter last time. We had a great family holiday. Our 6 year old Grandson loved it and was upset to go home. It's private and peaceful. Everything is of the highest quality and is extremely clean and well cared for. It's a bit of a tricky roaRead mored to drive on to get to the property but worth it when you arrive. Hide
