This attractive period terrace property sits in the heart of pretty Cockermouth, in the doggy paradise of the spectacular Lake District. With the river and park close by, it is the ideal base for exploring this beautiful area with your four-legged friend. Sleeping six across three bedrooms and with three canine companions also welcome, it is perfect for a family break in the Lakes.

Inside, a hallway welcomes you into the cottage, and is a useful space for cleaning boots and muddy paws. The cosy lounge/dining room is a lovely room to relax after a day out exploring, with comfy leather sofas and a glowing fire where you four-pawed pal can stretch out. Also downstairs is one of the three pretty bedrooms¬ – ideal if Fido likes to keep you company at night – complete with an en-suite bathroom. Upstairs is the neat and well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast table, perfect for that post-walk cup of coffee, along with two more bedrooms and a shower room.

Enjoy an early morning stroll along the river Derwent that flows through the pretty town of Cockermouth, with its pretty medieval streets and numerous dog-friendly pubs. The town has several parks, including the nearby Memorial Gardens, just a stick’s throw from the cottage and ideal for a few games of fetch. Jump in the car and take the scenic drive to beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake (5 miles), which offers beautiful lakeside walks. Alternatively head out to the glorious Solway Coast and the town of Silloth (17.5 miles) where your four-pawed pal can enjoy racing around the wonderful stretch of beach and play in the waves.

Great location despite the busy road. Well equipped with the basics eg toilet roll, soap, salt and pepper, oil etc. everything a bit tired, in need of a good clean. Don't arrive with a couple of bags of shopping to put in the fridge (like I did) as the fridge is tiny and completely inadequate.

Perfect location for us and our dogs, home from home, an outside space would have been a bonus but not essential. Every thing we needed for a lovely short break in the lakes.

This was a lovely, quirky cottage that met our needs during our holiday in the Lake District. It was well furnished and comfortable, and suitably equipped for a self catering holiday. It is on a surprisingly busy road, but that did not really bother townies who are used to moderate ambient noise.

Great location for walking to and around Cockermouth, lovely cottage and well equipped. It wasn't a problem for us, but I hadn't realised the kitchen is on the first floor. It's on a very busy main road which is noisy that two of the bedrooms face.

The property is was a restoration project and saved the house from being demolished. It's quirky (kitchen upstairs), full of character and spacious. It's within a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of town over the bridge with a fast flowing stream, very scenic. We loved our time here and would stay again.

Worked well as a base for days out and sleeping at, no garden for the dog which would have been useful to know when booking. The property could do with deep clean of the wood work and under beds and sofas. The property is in need of TLC and repairs in some of the rooms. The only real down side was that it was on a very busy main road all day and well into the night, so could not open the windows ,no real outside space only a parking area .On the plus side it was VERY clean and comfortable, and would recommend it in an instant. I look forward to booking with you again in the near future.

Nice cottage; easy access; obliging, pleasant owner; convenient parking. Cockermouth itself, a short walk away, is definitely worth a visit. We used the cottage as an easy way to access the North - there are so many wonderful places to go

A beautiful cottage in prime location very well equipped. Beds were extremely comfortable and bedding was so cosy. Cottage would benefit from a larger fridge/freezer and cleaned a bit more thoroughly. Apart from that I would highly recommend the cottage we had a great stay.

The cottage was in a great location, walking distance to Cockermouth town centre and its amenities. Having an allocated parking space to the rear of the property was a definite bonus. It was great for our weeks stay, very comfortable and just as described, we would definitely use the property again.
