Stay at this beautifully converted barn in North Devon for an extra-special holiday with those you love most in the world – your partner and your pets. The detached house, on the edge of a working farm, is set in open countryside – a secluded spot for couples to enjoy some quality time together with up to two dogs. There’s even a hot tub for the ultimate in relaxation. When it’s time to leave your peaceful holiday haven, take your cherished pets for long walks across moorland and down pretty river valleys in Exmoor National Park (6 miles) or head to the coast (24.5 miles) to gaze at the horizon and the starry sky.
The house has been refurbished in a modern style with an open-plan layout and an extension boasting a brand-new kitchen. In the cosy lounge, you’ll find a corner sofa for snuggling and a wood burner for keeping warm on chilly nights. From the living area, an attractive wooden staircase takes you up to the king-size bedroom. The enclosed garden, accessed through huge doors, is a great place to relax – either lying on the sun loungers with a magazine, soaking in the hot tub or teaching Luna new tricks on the lawn.
You’ll be on the edge of East Knowstone, a quiet hamlet with plenty of walking and cycling trails nearby. To enjoy a pint or a meal out, head to the charming 13th-century inn, 2 miles away. Spend an afternoon in the pretty market town of Dulverton (6 miles), South Molton (10 miles) or Withypool (11 miles). To take your wet-nosed chums for a run along a sandy beach, drive to Minehead (25 miles) where they can chase each other’s tails and frolic happily in the waves.
