This grand property offers plenty of space for your next group getaway. The traditional style of this cottage gives it a welcoming feel that provides a home-from-home for you and your dogs. There is a large garden providing plenty of run-around time for both the children and your pups whilst you can watch on from the outdoor seating areas. For days out and about, the nearby village of Alnwick is home to a castle and gardens to explore and a dog-friendly pub to relax in during the evening.

Children staying here will love the neighbouring ponies that can be seen from the rear patio area. Along with a summer house and large garden space to play in, this property is just as welcoming outside as it is inside. Inside, there is a toy cupboard for endless indoor entertainment that the whole group can enjoy. Alternatively, one of the two lounge areas is complete with wood burner and a bookcase providing a peaceful space to unwind with a cup of tea and a good novel. Bring everyone together in the dining room where a home-cooked meal can be eaten around a well-lit fire.

Alnwick Castle is just 7.5 miles away; full of character and one of the filming locations for Downton Abbey and Harry Potter, it is an attraction that will impress everyone. Alnwick Gardens (8 miles away) is another great day out that boasts a large treehouse, with hanging bridges to play on and a restaurant offering locally sourced foods. 12.5 miles away, you’ll find Low Newton-by-the-Sea, offering a great day out for all with its beach making a great spot for getting sandy paws and its local gastropub serving up a treat.

The location and size of the property was fantastic. However the property is sadly neglected. The guttering was overflowing, the driveway gates were in need of attention. The garden furniture (2 picnic benches) were insufficient for a relaxing time in the garden. We had bad weather otherwise I would have been more annoyed. Advice for future guests, take coal, logs kindling and fire lighters as none are provided. Thermal pyjamas would be useful too!

The cottage is very spacious and really is off the beaten track. We were a party of 10 (6 adults, 4children and 3 dogs) we had plenty of room. The nearest shop as in the description is a good 10 minute drive away and is further to the nearest pub. The equipment is dated but it did not spoil our holiday. The cottage was lovely and in a beautiful spot. We think the temperature in the left hand bathroom was set wrong as the water was cold every morning. Beautiful tranquil location and house. Brilliant walks around and lovely old church to walk up and have a look around. River walk opposite house is brilliant for the dogs. The closest place with restaurants/shops is 20/25 min drive which is a shame but lots of choice! Advice to book any pubs/restaurants well in advance !! Five of us had a wonderful holiday in Riverside cottage and there was plenty of space for double that number. It was peaceful, quiet and comfortable and we have come away feeling happy and relaxed. It is off the beaten track, which is what we liked about it, but it is only about a ten minute drive to the nearest shop/ garage and about twenty minuteRead mores away from Alnwick, which, apart from being a very beautiful little town, has a good range of supermarkets, shops and places to eat. Had a lovely weekend away with the family for my husband's 60th. Cottage was great for a family with young children and dogs! Kept cosy with the log burner and open fire as we were there in March. Quiet location with lovely walks by the river. Only about 30 mins from coast, enjoyed a lovely day at Bambrough Castle and beach. Also visited Alnwick abRead moreout 20 mins away. Great cottage in a beautiful location with good amenities. Perfect for family/ friends and dogs. We had a lovely weekend here. The cottage is beautiful, well kept and includes everything we needed for cooking as well as plenty of entertainment options. The solar power went out a couple of times but Anna was extremely helpful and we were back up and running within ten minutes each time. The house was perfect for our family get together, loads of space, plenty of kitchen equipment and nice base for getting to places of interest. It was lovely and warm and we didnt need to take anything as all supplied, even down to the special dog supply station that ours loved. We really enjoyed our stay, it was a perfect location for us 8 and 4 dogs, Lovely garden. I would say you need a car as its a few minutes drive from the nearest shop or pub. Heating was really good in one side of the house, not so good in the other, radiators didn't come on. It was perfect for us but is remote.
