In this cottage’s spacious open-plan arrangement, the whole pack can spend many fun and relaxing evenings together. Sleeping five, and welcoming two of your canine companions, it’s perfectly located for coastal walks and trips to the beach, including the spectacular stretch of sand at Embleton Bay (3 miles). At the property there’s also a lockable shed so you can safely store bikes, as well as all of your hound’s favourite toys!

Take off your coats and unclip Lassie’s lead. After dinner and a bowl of something tasty for your top dog, let them stretch out on the rug while you stay seated. The stylish low-hanging pendant lights above the table add a lovely warm glow to your evening, as you discuss ideas for the days ahead. From the kitchen/diner, move across to the lounge area for a seat on one of the sofas, where your dog can curl up at your feet. Play games, watch TV, or share stories over drinks. At the end of the night, enjoy a peaceful sleep in one of the three elegant bedrooms. Outside there is an enclosed patio garden, perfect for a summer BBQ - don’t forget to throw your four-pawed pal a bone too! As the fence is low, you will need to supervise dogs keen to sniff around.

Walkies will really set tails wagging along the Northumberland Coast – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – with the likes of Dunstanburgh Castle (3.5 miles) and Bamburgh Castle (10.5 miles) to explore. Let your dog get their sea legs on a boat trip to Longstone Island, setting off from Seahouses (7.5 miles). This is the only one of the Farne Islands where dogs are allowed to set their paws on land.

  • 3 bedrooms 1 en-suite double, 1 twin and 1 single with additional single roll-out bed for a 6th guest

The situatiion of the property was ideal for touring Northumberland, with good parking and an open aspect overlooking a field. Internally it needed some tender loving care

Everything was lovely but we just couldn't cope with the whole train thing (we booked in a rush and didn't read the reviews!). We left a day early because of it sadly :-(

Lovely accommodation, spacious living/kitchen area, sofas well used but still comfy enough. Kitchen had everything required - nice to have complimentary tea etc box and also the cleaning bits in the bag. Good use of bedrooms to meet different set-ups required & black out blinds great addition in lighter nights. No back garden, however as its liRead moreterally backs onto the train line it wasnt missed. Some trains noisier than others but it really didn't spoil the stay at all. Ramp at entrance starting to rot & 'bouncy' when you walk, but not an issue - my 87-year-old mum managed fine! The nearest shops are about 13min drive away - with the larger supermarkets in Alnwick. Great base to explore Northumberland as everything within 15-30min drive. Hide

Convenient for short journeys to popular attractions in the coastal area and for country/coastal walks. Spacious enough for family. Trains mentioned in information do not greatly disturb, even the child with us.

Nice enough accommodation situated centrally, friendly pub round the corner, secure front garden handy for dogs. Living area was decent, although layout made evening TV viewing challenging, tv needs an adjustable mount. Well equipped kitchen. Main east coast line runs apx 8 feet from back wall of the house. Ideal location for touring the area. Comfy beds, but bedding felt damp. Pretty frequent trains which rattled the place. Tired decor, ramp outside broken & slippery after rain. I use walking aids & didn't feel safe. No higher seating in lounge for those who need it. Had to buy our own salt, pepper, washing up sponge. We were in the area for a wedding at nearby Newton Hall. We needed somwhere close and preferably on one floor as my wife's parents were staying with us (92 and 85). This fit the bill exactly. I have read a few reviews mention the trains and I can honestly say that you don't really notice them. We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage .Although the bed wasnt the most comfortable Ive slept on,everything was as described on the website. The close proximity to the railway was not a problem, far less intrusive than the average main road, and nothing in the early hours.Ideally placed for the sights we wished to visit.

This cottage is only really suitable for 4 people max, as its very compact with no wardrobe space in the second bedroom. Location is good but over all it needs some TLC, such as a refresh of the internal paint work and more dishes and cutlery to fully make use of the dishwasher.
