Less than 0.5 miles from water, this delightful cottage could not be more perfectly placed for a family coastal escape. Soak up the incredible sea view from the doorstep before ambling down to the bustling harbour and beach, where your hounds will go mutts for the long stretch of golden sands. The property sleeps four across two comfortable bedrooms and offers a cosy place to unwind after a day of exploring.
Once you’ve torn yourself away from the view, step into the welcoming cottage which will feel like a home-from-home. Kick off your shoes, wipe off muddy paws, and sink into the inviting sofas in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner for a quiet family night in. On cold evenings, fire up the wood burner and snuggle up with your loved ones, hounds included. The small but well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook your favourite meal — although you’re sure to be tempted by the dog-friendly local pub across the road. Exhausted from the day’s adventures, head upstairs to the two double bedrooms for a well-deserved slumber.
If you’re looking for adventure, a visit to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (19 miles) comes highly recommended. Accessible via a causeway at low tide, the island is home to a historic castle and priory as well as a beautiful crescent-shaped beach. Speaking of beaches, here you are spoilt for choice; as well as the one on your doorstep, there are ample nearby to explore. Your hounds will go mutts for the golden sands at Annstead (1 mile), Beadnell Bay (3 miles), Embleton Bay (8.5 miles), Bamburgh Castle (3.5 miles), and Ross Back Sands (9.5 miles).
