With the long sandy beach of Low Newton-by-the-Sea just a short stroll through the sand dunes, this charming three-bedroom cottage sleeping up to six guests will get tails wagging at the unrivalled location and the choice of walks straight from the doorstep. The lovely stretch of sand at Football Hole is perfect for off-lead runs and doggy paddles in the clear water. After a long walk along the beach, stop at the dog-friendly village inn for a local ale or bar meal.

Accessed via the back door, step straight into the large kitchen, ideal for cleaning off sandy paws after a few hours at the beach. You’ll find everything you need for a home-from-home stay in the well-equipped kitchen, including a breakfast table where you can plan your day’s activities. There’s a separate dining area overlooking the dunes so you can enjoy your evening meals as the sun sets. The relaxing lounge is decorated in shades reflecting the seaside location; sit and relax on one of the comfortable sofas with your hound at your feet. When it’s time to retire, there are three well-appointed bedrooms: two queen-size bedrooms and a cosy room with two single beds. A family bathroom and separate shower room complete the accommodation. Outside is a grassy area to the front of the cottage where your hound can stretch their paws and the beach is only steps away.

Let Fido take the lead along the Northumberland Coast Path stretching away from your cottage to discover quaint coastal villages and breathtaking vistas. Follow the path to the charming village of Craster (6 miles) to feast on locally caught kippers and watch the fishermen unload their catches at the working harbour. Spot seals and porpoises on a boat trip around the Farne Islands National Nature Reserve (7.5 miles) with your hound as first mate.

This is our second stay at Beach Retreat and we had a really good stay. The cottage is spacious and comfortable and previous feedback on heat settings, which are controlled remotely, seem to have been addressed and the cottage was comfortable all day. I have seen some people say it gets too hot but you can just switch off the radiators. It is juRead morest 20 meters or so to the beach and there are great views out to sea and to the wildlife ponds if the weather is allows you to sit outside. We managed to on three days in March which was lucky. You are well place to visit places up and down the coast and you have a great pub in Low Newton and a good pub/rrestaurant just up the road. We will definitely be coming back again. Hide

The cottage is lovely and in the most fantastic location. It has been really nicely revamped and we appreciated the extra space. It is lovely and clean and well equipped and a stones throw from the beach and a fantastic pub. It would be nice to have more control over the heating. Sometimes too hot, sometimes too cold and it would be good to have soRead moreme wood provided for the fire. We had an issue with the boiler, but that was quickly resolved. We would definitely recommend. Hide

The cottage is in an ideal position overlooking the beach, with exotic country walks and a few metres away from a delightful small pub (with its own brewery) that does delightful meals. What more could anyone ask for!

Great location and well equipped but not being able to control the heating a big NO NO. If you pay this much for a property you expect to be able to control the heating so that, for example, if you stay in on a cool day you can have some heat. Lovely cottage with everything you need apart from food and drink - provided.
