Nestled on a small country estate on the north-eastern shore of Coniston Water, this stylish Lakeland cottage provides a truly special base for your Lake District adventures. Set against a backdrop of the rugged Old Man of Coniston mountain range, this delightful abode sleeps four guests and welcomes one beloved pup. From lakeside picnics and messing about on the water to sniffing out adventures on the surrounding trails, there’s plenty here to keep the entire pack entertained. After adventurous days, you’ll love returning to this tranquil retreat to rest and recharge.
This former 18th-century stable has been lovingly renovated to create a stylish and welcoming base with sleek interiors adorned in serene natural hues. Step through the stable door to find an inviting, open-plan living area where living room, kitchen and dining area form a lovely sociable space. The modern fitted kitchen is beautifully equipped to rustle up family favourites, before gathering around the dining table to savour your creations together. Then adjourn to the lounge and sink into the deep sofas to watch TV or just enjoy quality time together, while your pup snoozes by the wood burner. Alternatively, make the most of warm evenings by firing up the BBQ and dining alfresco in the walled garden, watching the stars appear overhead. Ease weary muscles with a soak in the tub before bed, then get cosy under the covers in the two comfortable bedrooms, a double and a twin.
The estate benefits from a private shore, where you can savour a lakeside picnic and even bring your own boat to launch from the jetty. If you don’t have a boat, you can still hop on a lake cruise with your dog, or simply set off on foot to explore the numerous trails, including the legendary fell, the Old Man of Coniston (1.5 miles). A little further afield, Grizedale Forest (6 miles) has a network of gorgeous trails through the vast woodland.
