Nestled on a small country estate on the north-eastern shore of Coniston Water, this stylish Lakeland cottage provides a truly special base for your Lake District adventures. Set against a backdrop of the rugged Old Man of Coniston mountain range, this delightful abode sleeps four guests and welcomes one beloved pup. From lakeside picnics and messing about on the water to sniffing out adventures on the surrounding trails, there’s plenty here to keep the entire pack entertained. After adventurous days, you’ll love returning to this tranquil retreat to rest and recharge.

This former 18th-century stable has been lovingly renovated to create a stylish and welcoming base with sleek interiors adorned in serene natural hues. Step through the stable door to find an inviting, open-plan living area where living room, kitchen and dining area form a lovely sociable space. The modern fitted kitchen is beautifully equipped to rustle up family favourites, before gathering around the dining table to savour your creations together. Then adjourn to the lounge and sink into the deep sofas to watch TV or just enjoy quality time together, while your pup snoozes by the wood burner. Alternatively, make the most of warm evenings by firing up the BBQ and dining alfresco in the walled garden, watching the stars appear overhead. Ease weary muscles with a soak in the tub before bed, then get cosy under the covers in the two comfortable bedrooms, a double and a twin.

The estate benefits from a private shore, where you can savour a lakeside picnic and even bring your own boat to launch from the jetty. If you don’t have a boat, you can still hop on a lake cruise with your dog, or simply set off on foot to explore the numerous trails, including the legendary fell, the Old Man of Coniston (1.5 miles). A little further afield, Grizedale Forest (6 miles) has a network of gorgeous trails through the vast woodland.

We cannot fault the cottage or the location though may have been unlucky this week as the family owners/hosts were present most days dealing not just with laundry, changeovers and maintenance whilst using loud power tools, which meant a lot of noise and loud conversations across the courtyard. There is no mention of keeping dogs on a lead around thRead moree courtyard but this was insisted upon by each of the family members due to a recent incident. We would return to the area but not to this property Hide

We had a lovely Christmas at Tent Lodge cottage. The kitchen had everything we needed for a great Christmas dinner. The location is fabulous for walking up to Tarn How's and the garden is ideal if you have dog. We hope to go again.

Beautiful property in a quiet location. It's a mile's walk into the village and the jetty is at the end of the lake so no power boats to bother you. There are picnic benches by the jetty too so ideal for sundowners on a warm evening. The garden is enclosed so handy with the dog. A peaceful location and great having direct access to the lake, also accessible to some great walks. The owners were very friendly and popped by to check we had everything we needed. The welcome wine and snacks were very welcome, but please note that there was no shower gel, tea or coffee provided so do bring your own supplies. The cottage is warmeRead mored through a fire and storage heaters, it was a bit tricky balancing the cottage between being warm enough but not boiling. Overall a lovely stay. Hide

Lovely clean and well equipped cottage. Really great to have access to jetty and picnic benches by lake to escape the crowds! Excellent location and nice view of lake from the double bedroom. Highly recommend nearby by Brantwood, the museum and steam launch. Beers from Coniston Brewery very good.
