Approaching the property via a tree-lined drive, guests arrive at the private entrance accessible via several steps. Ascend the internal staircase to discover the living space occupying the first floor — a stylish room with contemporary furnishings is bathed in natural light through the large patio door. A wood burner in the fireplace adds a warming ambience that Rover is sure to adore, with the sofa an ideal spot to unwind in front of the Smart TV. The dining table offers spectacular views, and the modestly sized yet well-equipped kitchen features everything a holiday chef could need. Continuing down the hallway, the chic double bedroom in muted colours offers glorious countryside views. The fully tiled shower room completes this floor. This is a comfortable and well-equipped cottage in picturesque and peaceful surroundings, with lovely views all around. You could not ask for a better place from which to explore the Southern Lakes. The hosts, Graham and Judith gave us a warm and generous welcome and took pains to ensure we had everything we needed.

We really enjoyed our weeks stay at this lovely cottage. The friendly owners were really accommodating and always available should the need arise. Perfect location for the lower part of the Lake District and the cottage offers everything you could possibly need. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise too!

We had a very pleasant weeks stay eating our breakfast on the balcony most days. Coniston village only 10 minutes away with its ferries and Hill Top and Dove Cottage not too far. Ulverston is this best local town for getting supplies (Booths and Aldi). Ravenglass railway takes about 1 hour to get to. Cottage well equipped and friendly owners and doRead moregs. Hide

Spacious and comprehensively equipped with a quirky, engaging style and very comfortable furnishings. Amazing bed, slept uninterrupted every night! Wonderful soothing views of mountains and grazing sheep and the ever changing cloudscape. Short and long walks from the doorstep to tarns, streams and viewpoints. Stunning views and warm cosy feel to the place. Short distance from Coniston with lots of walks near by, absolutely perfect for dogs, we have a nervous rescue Collie and it was her first holiday. Graham made us and Luna feel welcome as soon as we arrived, even recommended a quiet lane near by where we could walk her off lead each evening without haRead moreving to worry. A lovely week in the Lake District. Cold but invigorating, brutal and stunning at this time of year. The waterfalls in full flow. Even snow for a couple of days. Not all restaurants, pubs and facilities are open but enough to keep you going. Our accommodation was delightful as were the hosts Graham and Judy. Cant wait to go back.

1st visit to Mountain View, perfect for us regarding location, facilities and peaceful. Centrally placed for most central and southern lakes whilst Ulverston for shopping. Lovely walks up Beacon Fell, Coniston to Tarn Hows. A walk upto the Sir John Barrow monument in Ulverston with wonderful views south with panoramic view of the lakeland peaks. Another wonderful stay at Mountain View. This is our third visit and we enjoyed our stay just as much as the first time. The owners, Judy and Graham are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They also leave an exceptional welcome pack. We were so comfortable, it is beautifully arranged and very rural, lots of country sounds, beautiful gardens, and views. We enjoyed watching the deer with our binoculars.
