Retreat to this gorgeous cottage in the Lake District with one very happy hound joining you for the stay. The charming character property, which also sleeps three guests, is tucked away in the village of Bouth, surrounded by spectacular, undulating countryside where you and your canine companion can roam for hours. Wander through the low fells and walk beside the magnificent lakes, then return to your cosy abode to light the wood burner and plan the next day’s adventure.
Step into the embracing lounge, with its beautiful stone fireplace and exposed beams. Settle in front of the Smart TV while Fido warms his paws in the glow of the wood burner and awaits his dinner patiently. Reward everyone’s exertions with tasty dishes prepared in the kitchen at the back of the house. Serve your furry friend in here and lay the table for everyone else in the dining room, which is a few steps up from the lounge. There’s a washer/dryer in the kitchen, which may be useful for any damp towels used on furry feet. Make your way upstairs to both charming bedrooms and your opulent bathroom, with its WC, shower and spa bath. Let Fido out into the enclosed garden when he wakes and dine out there together on warm days.
Take your best furry friend with you to explore the southern end of the scenic Lake District from your cottage, which is nestled in a quiet corner of the national park, close to the Rusland Valley. Pick up the 3.5-mile Greenwood Trail from Haverthwaite, 1.5 miles away, which takes you through some glorious bluebell woodland. Drive 9.5 miles to the Claife Heights viewing station at Windermere. The lakeside path from here to Wray Castle is suitable for dogs and allows them to splash in the shallows while presenting you with some fabulous views.
