A country retreat for a family and its furry companions, this charming property sits in a tranquil spot in the grounds of a non-working farm, where horses roam and strawberries grow in abundance, and provides easy access to the hill trails of the Aberdeenshire countryside.
Take off your walking boots at the porch and head into your converted barn, where a sweet kitchen, charming dining area and comfy lounge tuck around a wooden partition, making this sociable area both open and cosy. From the sitting area, step out onto your patio, which is enclosed to keep your pups safe. Down the hall, a single bedroom sits on the ground floor with a shower room next door. Upstairs are two further bedrooms, with sumptuous double beds. Outside, the land is no longer a working farm, so you can explore the grounds and meet the horses and the resident ducks. In the large shared garden sits a BBQ hut, with cosy seating inside for late night chats and hot toddies. There is also a dog kennel available to leave your four-legged friend for a few hours if needed.
The farm is located in the unspoilt village of Clatt. A remarkable way to experience traditional Aberdeenshire, the village even boasts an Auld Kirk, dating back to the 6th century, which itself sits on a heritage path, so beginning your tour of the Scottish countryside. From here, journey 10 miles east to tire out those paws along the trails of the Bennachie Hills and Bennachie Forest. The Gordon Way trail is great for wildlife spotting.
