This beautifully renovated home on the edge of Ashdown Forest sleeps ten people over four bedrooms and welcomes five canine companions. Boasting beautiful design features throughout, this is the ideal rural retreat for large families or groups of friends who want to get away from the city to enjoy some stylish country living with their pups by their side. You and your faithful friends can explore the Sussex countryside by day and curl up in front of the wood burner by night.
Step inside and you’ll find a hallway with ample room to store all of those dog-walking essentials. Head into the open-plan living room/kitchen/diner and you’ll discover a welcoming space with breathtaking country views. Cook up a feast in the kitchen and gather everyone together around the dining table, or step outside into the garden and light the gas BBQ. After dinner, watch a movie in the living room while your pups snuggle up in front of the wood burner. The kids will make a beeline for the spacious landing area, where there are board games to keep them entertained, or up into the ‘secret den’ (accessed via a ladder with a safety lock), where they can chill out with the games console. At the end of the day, there are four lovely bedrooms for you to choose from.
Take a trip to the Bluebell Railway (6 miles), where your canine companions can take a trip through 11 miles of glorious Sussex scenery on a steam train. Bluebell boasts one of the finest collections of vintage steam locomotives in the country. Further afield, West Quay Beach (18.5 miles) is dog friendly all year round. After playing in the water, it’s nice to take a walk up to Newhaven Fort, which sits on the cliffs above the beach.
