Glamping spots don’t come much more picturesque than this. Nestled within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall, this lodge pod is the perfect spot for walkers and hikers, with direct access from the property onto Hadrian’s Walk. The pod sleeps two, plus space for your furry, four-legged friend, making it a dream of a rural retreat for couples.
The open-plan, studio-style lodge pod is on a small complex with three others, with the site exuding peace and quiet. After a busy day of exploring, relax in the lounge area in front of the TV while Rover gently snoozes at your feet, before you retire to the comfortable double bed at the rear of the pod. Enjoy a well-deserved glass of wine or a good local ale on the private decked area outside, drinking in the incredible, far-reaching views and saying hello to the locals, including deer and barn owls. The lodges share an enclosed garden, which is an idyllic spot for a game or two of fetch on a sunny afternoon.
Spend your days exploring Hadrian’s Wall, which is the largest Roman monument in Europe. Spanning 84 miles coast to coast across the north of England, it’s a complete paradise for outdoor lovers and their active dogs, with many walking and cycling routes to discover. Other Roman ruins nearby include those at Housesteads (20.5 miles), Birdoswald (10 miles) and Vindolanda (19 miles), while Talkin Tarn Country Park (4.5 miles) and the ancient woodland at Gelt Woods (6 miles) both offer even more picturesque routes to wander.
