This pretty cottage could be the perfect place for your party of four and your one contented canine to stay. Wander through the bucolic countryside of the Cotswolds from this welcoming holiday home in the charming market town of Stow-on-the-Wold and sniff out the many dog-friendly pubs, restaurants and cafes in its green and pleasant surroundings.
Accessed down a shared passageway the traditional Cotswold stone cottage presents rustic features, such as a flagstone floor and exposed timber beams, as well as all the creature comforts you and your four-legged friend will be seeking. There is ample space for coats, boots and, of course, leads, in the lounge area. Here you can also light the wood burner on a winter’s night and absorb the ambience with your best pal at your feet. Watch your Smart TV or a DVD and then head up to the bedrooms, both of which have en-suite shower rooms. Prepare breakfast in your kitchen/diner while your eager hound explores the enclosed garden and your children have fun in the play area. Head outside to eat on the raised patio if the weather is fine.
There are so many outings in the area to tempt you and your precious pet. The National Trust’s Chastleton House and Gardens, 6.5 miles away, is worth a visit and dogs are welcome in the field here. At Blenheim Palace, approximately 20 miles away, they can explore the park with you, or for a more rigorous expedition, attempt a stretch of the 102-mile Cotswold Way. Pick this up at Broadway, approximately 11.5 miles away, and take a circular walk, along which you can stop to rest tired paws and take in views across the Severn Vale into Wales.
