This stylish cottage is in the charming market town of Skipton, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The cottage sleeps two guests and one small pup and is within easy reach of the bustling high street, as well as popular dog-walking spots including the Millennium Walk (0.5 miles) and Skipton Castle Woods (1.5 miles). Further afield, enjoy a day trip to the spa town of Harrogate (22 miles).
The contemporary cottage is set next to the owner’s cafe. Inside, you’ll find an open-plan holiday retreat with sleek furniture, quirky design features, and romantic mood lighting. The main living area comprises a lounge/kitchen/diner where you can unwind after a day of exploring. Sink into the sumptuous sofa to watch TV, with Rover stretched out on the rug at your feet, or perch at the breakfast bar with a delicious dinner that you’ve whipped up in the stylish kitchen area. Upstairs, a fabulous king-size bedroom awaits with an indulgent, free-standing bath – perfect for reviving aching limbs after a long walk with the furball. A separate shower room completes this romantic bolthole. There is no outside space, but with the canal towpath on your doorstep, you and the hound can enjoy waterside ambles directly from the cottage.
You’ll find plenty to look at on a dog walk around Skipton. Marvel at the historic buildings on the cobbled high street, before taking a stroll around the 11th-century castle and grounds (four-pawed visitors are welcome on a lead). There are also beautiful walks to enjoy along the canal and through various wooded areas in the town. From Embsay Station (2 miles) you and your furry companion can board the heritage steam train to visit Bolton Abbey Estate, with its riverside trails, nature walks, and moorland hiking routes.
