A winding staircase leads up to the first floor with its spacious bathroom and a peaceful double bedroom with a lovely wrought-iron bed and built-in wardrobes. Outside, there’s a small seating area to the front of the cottage and a cheery courtyard to the rear with a table and chairs and space for your four-pawed pal to relax at your feet.
Meads is a picturesque village along the South Downs Way, offering a wonderful walk for dogs and their owners along the coast and towards Beachy Head (1.5 miles). The quiet local Holywell Beach (400 metres) is pet friendly, as are other beaches nearby including Birling Gap (4 miles) and Pevensey Bay (6 miles). The bustling resort of Eastbourne is to the immediate north-east (1.5 miles), and dogs are welcome to help you explore Pevensey Castle (6.5 miles) and Friston Forest (8 miles).
