This charming property, situated less than half a mile from Brixham Harbour and the South West Coast Path, is perfect for you and your guests – including your loyal canine companion. Sleeping two, it won’t be long before you’re up and ready to explore this stunning part of South Devon. Take the 2-mile walk along the coast path to Berry Head Nature Reserve for wonderful views, or climb aboard the Golden Hind Museum Ship where your pup can learn about the age of exploration with you.
The cottage, which is accessed via external steep steps, is cosy and comfortable. The characterful living area greets you with rich exposed beams and sumptuous sofa to sink into in front of the wood burner surrounded by a gorgeous brick fireplace; the hound might take up residence there for most of the evening! Up to the first floor, the kitchen has a quaint style with the calming blue tones of the ocean blended with neutral hues; take your dinner out to the patio accessed from here and dine alfresco in the summer. At bedtime, head to the double bedroom located on this floor.
Take a stroll up to Fishcombe Cove (1 mile) where your hound can unleash it all and join the children as they go rock pooling. Jump on a steam train with the Dartmouth Steam Rail and River Boat Company (5.5 miles) to travel along the Devonshire coast before catching the ferry across the River Dart to join the circular river cruise from Dartmouth. But if that’s all a bit much, there’s a dog-friendly pub a very short walk from the cottage where you can relax with a pint.
