This superb property, just 300 metres from Brixham Harbour, is perfect for your little family – and that includes the pup, of course! Sleeping four across two beautifully-decorated bedrooms and with plenty of space for the dog to relax, this property is truly a chance to immerse yourself in the coastal way of life, thanks to plenty of natural light and quaint nautical touches. Head down to the harbour or to quiet St Mary’s Bay (1.5 miles), where the canine can unleash it all whatever the time of year.
The three-storey house, a Grade II-listed former fisherman’s cottage, is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen/diner on the lower ground floor is fresh and bright with everything you’ll need for a hearty meal, while the blue tones of the sea in the lounge make it the perfect place to lose yourself in a good book while the hound snoozes by your feet. Head up the steep and winding cottage-style stairs at bedtime and snuggle into one of the cosy bedrooms; the seaside theme continues and lulls you to sleep as if you can really hear the crashing waves. Wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day, heading down to the small patio to enjoy an al fresco breakfast when the sun’s shining.
Take a wildlife boat trip from the harbour, along with your four-legged friend, to spot wildlife such as seals, herons and even dolphins along the stunning Torbay coastline. Go for a paddle at Elberry Cove (3 miles), where the shallow waters are crystal clear. Breakwater Beach is less than a mile away and dogs are welcome outside of the summer months, but the South West Coast Path (accessible 160 metres from the property) is the ideal place for the pup to take the lead and sniff out some stunning views and wildlife.
