This little property in the Brecon Beacons has its own hot tub, amazing views over Sugar Loaf Mountain and plenty of space for a couple and two dogs to relax and play. There are almost endless walks to be had in the Brecon Beacons and along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal or visit Big Pit at the Blaenavon World Heritage Site. The canal can be found at the edge of the property’s grounds – you can watch narrowboats passing along it from the bottom of the garden.
The property is a private wing of the owners’ cottage, with its own entrance that leads straight to the kitchen, where you can get muddy paws cleaned up easily. There is a spacious but cosy lounge with an electric "wood" burner, where you can curl up on chilly nights and lazy afternoons or watch a film on the Smart TV. There’s also an attractive king-size bedroom and a shower room. Outside is a wonderful private terrace with furniture and a hot tub. Jump in and enjoy the most wonderful view of Sugar Loaf mountain, whatever the weather. You are also free to roam the owner’s grounds and find a sunny or shady spot to relax in. There’s a dedicated dog proofed exercise paddock of over an acre where you can take the dogs when they need a run-around and you can relax on one of the many seating areas. The owners have thoughtfully added a water supply for you to give your dog a drink whilst in the paddock.
Stays here are all about long hilly walks or gentle strolls along the canal, and cosy pub lunches. The property is in the village of Gilwern, home to pubs, shops and takeaways. Abergavenny, a Welsh cultural centre and known as the gateway to Wales, is just 5 miles away. It’s a great place to wander for an afternoon with lots of shops and pubs to enjoy as it has a well deserved reputation as a foodie town, especially if you visit during the Food festival in September. The Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre is 23 miles away and runs popular stargazing events (if you're not stargazing from your hot tub), as well as offering plenty of advice on where to go and what to see in the Beacons.
