Boasting superb views across the picturesque fishing port of Looe from almost every window, you can enjoy a taste of life by the sea at this family-friendly coastal-themed Cornish cottage. This retreat has been thoughtfully and stylishly decorated throughout with no fuss and plenty of original features. Your four-pawed pal can go mutts exploring the miles of sandy shoreline and scenic walks along the South West Coast Path that is just a stick’s throw away.

Retaining much of its original charm with cobbled walls, low ceilings and historic narrow staircases reminiscent of a traditional Cornish cottage, this home-from-home boasts a true warmth; the reverse-style layout maximises fetching views across Looe and towards the coast beyond. On the top floor, the contemporary country cottage kitchen/diner inspires you to get creative with your local treats whilst the characterful lounge, with its plush furnishings and breathtaking views over the rooftops to the harbour, invites weary walking toes and paws to unwind. Across the middle and ground floor, you’ll find two bedrooms, one king-size and one twin that feature crisp white linens and beamed ceilings that create a dreamy, calming ambience. Outside, the raised decking features panoramic views across Looe that’ll set tails wagging, as well as plenty of space for little paws to stretch as you dine alfresco.

Steeped in history, Looe centres around a working harbour, famous for its award-winning, daily caught fish and glass-bottom boat rides to Looe Island. Treat your pup to an afternoon of practising the doggy paddle at Downderry Beach just 6.5 miles away, or by getting their paws sandy at the golden shoreline of Plaidy Beach just over 3 miles away. Take the lead to the South West Coast Path from the footpath running alongside West Looe Beach at Hannafore (1 mile) to be rewarded with panoramic sea views; find plenty of stick-throwing opportunities following the coast path to the charming nearby fishing village of Polperro 4.5 miles away.

Nice little cottage clean & tidy, fairly well equipped. 1/3 of the way up a very steep hill, but you should expect hills if you go to Looe. We had a great stay with our dog, loverly break & hope to go back one day.

Lovely little cottage, great views, the usual steps you'd expect in a Cornish fishing village.

Lovely cottage with unique layout and amazing view. Cosy with lots of character. Looe is very hilly and May cottage is half way up a steep hill followed by steps to entrance. However good location as only few minutes walk down to East Looe where there are plenty of shops, pubs etc and a clean sandy beach.

Be prepared for a lot of steps and steep hill to the property. Parking within a few minutes walk and very convenient. Comfortable, light and airy cottage, not sutable for anybody who is not physically fit and able or dogs.

We enjoyed staying here and exploring Looe and the super walks along the coast and up the river. The cottage was clean, quiet, comfortable and reasonably well equipped, and we liked sitting out in the decking area and making use of the barbecue there. We liked the village shop and the Jolly Sailor pub just down the hill, and it was handy being ableRead more to leave the car in the car park just up the hill. A good base for holiday. Hide

Fabulous location, especially the view from the decking. Spot the house from East Looe! It does stand out. The cottage itself is lovely and everything you need is provided. I had a wonderful stay. There are steps, inside the property and out, and it's located halfway up a fairly steep hill (as is much of Looe) , with the parking space a little furtRead moreher up the hill, so this may need to be taken into consideration if there are mobility issues. Please see other reviews for mobility issues. Provided you are relatively fit the location is great for a walk into the town. Nice views from the lounge and terrace area. Neighbours are friendly and Looe is a nice location for a break.

A cosy, comfortable cottage with a fantastic view of the sea from the suntrap of a balcony. Not suitable for people who struggle with steep hills and steps, but within easy walking distance of shops, pubs etc.
