Set on a working farm in North Devon, this characterful cottage welcomes five lucky dogs plus five humans to stay. Sitting in a courtyard with four other properties, your friendly hosts have thought of everything. Young children will particularly enjoy feeding the farm animals – a fantastic way to learn about nature. Horses, alpacas, pigs, donkeys, rabbits, ducks and chickens look forward to welcoming you! For essentials, shops, pubs and restaurants are a short drive (4 miles), and there’s ample parking for guests.
Part of the original medieval farmhouse and boasting historic period features, the property boasts a country-style kitchen. The dining and utility area is well-equipped, making light work of family mealtimes, while the lounge has a cosy wood burner and TV with DVD. A flight of cottage-style stairs leads to a double bedroom, and another bedroom with three single beds, plus a shower room with a WC. Head outside, where there’s a step down to the enclosed garden seating area for mindful moments, until four-legged friends spring to life with leads and beckoning puppy eyes.
On-site, shared guest areas include a toddler zone with pond dipping and animal handling, a children’s play area (children should be supervised), a barn with games and a library with books, toys and videos. Surfers will enjoy the shores of Ilfracombe (4.5 miles), and Saunton (10 miles), while walkers and canine adventurers will be drawn to the barkable thrills of heather-clad Exmoor (8 miles), a place to spot red deer, wild ponies, and sparkling constellations.
