  • Situated in a perfect location along the scenic coastal road, in the heart of Llwyngwril with village pub, shop and beach on the doorstep
  • Romantic 18th century cottage full of period features and contemporary twists
  • Stylishly designed garden with natural water rill on the patio’s edge
Property code: 52112

This characterful 18th-century cottage is your quirky home in the hills of North Wales, perfect for a romantic break away (with your dog as the third wheel, of course). Situated in the village of Llwyngwril, on a breathtaking coastal road, the cottage provides a cosy base from which to explore the climbs of Snowdonia.

The property is full of period features, unusual rooms, and contemporary touches. Enter into your open-plan living room and kitchen, with flagstone floors and an original hearth. Cottage-style stairs take you up to your charming double bedroom and seaside-themed bathroom. Outside, the garden has been designed with surprise in mind. Little paths, a fire pit, a charcoal BBQ, and inviting lights for open-air evenings heighten the romance. At the edge of the patio, a natural rill provides the relaxing soundtrack of water trickling down to a nearby stream. Most importantly, it’s a safe, fun space for your dogs to chill out in.

You’ll have to make many return-trips to cover all the sights and attractions of Aberdovey and the surrounding landscape. Described as “one of Britain’s breathing spaces,” Snowdonia is a world unto itself. First comes the beach, less than a mile away, perfect for checking “sandy paws” off the bucket list. From the cottage, a beautiful 27-mile drive will bring you to Harlech Castle and its atmospheric grounds. And if wildlife and waterfalls are your thing, try a visit to the Dyfi estuary, 23 miles away, where sea, sky, and mountains meet, or the Dolgoch Falls, 11 miles away.

  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week

Nice little cottage, but sadly now the pub has closed and no decent shop, the village lacks a bit of life.

Lovely cottage in a lovely friendly village. We had a very nice stay. Everything worked and the welcome gifts of milk, butter, scones and fruit loaf were a lovey. I highly recommend the George III pub at the Barmouth toll bridge for Sunday roast. Dog friendly too.

Having read previous positive reviews, I completely agree with them. The cottage was warm, beautifully furnished and equipped, locals friendly, beaches perfect, location ideal and this meant that we, and our two dogs, were able to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of the world.

Lovely comfortable little cottage. Good location. Everything you need is provided for your stay. Lovely, little welcome of essentials on arrival. Parking may be a problem for some. Local free parking is available but not always a space so need to be prepared to park on street a bit further down.
