An elegant three-storey property, finished in a classic yet contemporary style, with a second floor lounge offering views to the Torridge estuary beyond. All that the pretty village of Appledore has to offer is available almost right on the doorstep, including dog-friendly pubs, quayside walks, and an array of shops.

Spread over three floors, this cottage offers plenty of space for you and your fellow guests, including your beloved dog, to stretch out and relax. Two bedrooms have been tastefully furnished in an understated fashion. The master bedroom is located on the first floor and offers an en-suite shower room, whilst the main bathroom offers a sumptuous spa bath. The lounge on the second floor, next to the second bedroom, is a simply gorgeous room and is the perfect place to start and end your day, enjoying the quayside views from the comfortable sofas.

Great location, but the property is poorly maintained smells of damp and is unsuitable for people with mobility issues due to steep stairs. The washing machine is also very loud.

Poor communication prior to the holiday, left several messages with some general questions but no one got back to us. The cottage could do with some general TLC, and as mentioned in previous reviews the frying pan still did not work on the hob. However, the views and the location of the cottage were amazing. We can recommend The Yard and The Flame Read morefactory, both wonderful service and fantastic food. Hide

Everything you could need is in the cottage, lovely towels and comfy beds . Two sets of steep stairs so you get your steps in , but then a brilliant location for everything in the village.

For us this Location was the best option. However, the level of cleanliness and maintenance standards leaves a lot to be desired. Clearly a higher level of TLC would help to upgrade this cottage. We always enjoy our stay in Appledore and the week spent at Missioners Cottage was pleasant.

Ideal location and a lovely stay. Should it be a concern for you be aware there are 29 stairs up to the 3rd floor lounge but the double aspect view is lovely and there is a small kitchen area with fridge up there. If no on street parking the very close public car park is only 16 for a week. Enjoyed our week there

This is a great house in the heart of beautiful Appledore - would thoroughly recommend!!! We loved our week long stay (3x adults, 1x 24mo old staying in July). Easy walking from here to everywhere in town and always something to look at on the river so not short of entertainment. If you have wee ones, suggest bringing stair gates - v steep stairs.
