Close to the beautiful village of Wedmore, this delightful retreat is perfect for a romantic getaway, just don’t forget your four-legged friend as he is welcome too! Enjoy relaxed evenings and days that are as action-packed (or as sedate) as you want them to be. Whether you want to explore spectacular gorges, wander woodland trails or enjoy a splash along the beach, there are ample delights to get that tongue lolling and that tail wagging!
With traditional features such as exposed beams and stone walls, this cosy bolthole is on a complex of properties, yet retains its privacy. Lovingly renovated, a warm welcome awaits as you kick off wet wellies and wipe mucky paws and trot into the kitchen. Grab a cuppa and a doggy treat and settle in the bright yet cosy lounge, open the French doors to let in the air, and your pup out to sniff and scamper as you drink your tea on the sofa. Enjoy dining alfresco on warm evenings, before retreating inside to light the wood burner and cuddle up whilst your tufty-pawed friend sprawls in front of the flickering heat. As a new day begins, take your morning coffee and potter to the orchard and stream while your pup scatters the dew with a roll in the grass.
Potter to Wedmore for the closest local shop and pub, ideal after a day outdoors. The Mendip Hills (8 miles) is a stunning landscape of steep slopes and undulating plateau punctuated by the spectacular Chedder Gorge (5.5 miles) and Ebbor Gorge (8.5 miles). Climb Black Down (8.5) amongst pine and heather trails or race the waves at Burnham-on-Sea (9 miles). For you urbanites, head to the cities of Bath (27 miles) and Bristol (23 miles), and further afield find Quantock Hills (27.5 miles), an Area of Natural Beauty, where panoramic views lead you through coast and heath.
