Situated in the breathtaking Brecon Beacons, this beautifully-converted barn is situated on a working farm near the charming town of Crickhowell, surrounded by fabulous countryside for waggy-tailed walks straight from the front door. A perfect rural retreat for a group of friends or a large family with up to two four-legged friends.

Full of charm, this delightful property offers plenty of characterful details with exposed beam and high ceilings. The natural wood and simple decor throughout the property creates a warm, welcoming ambience. Your four-pawed pets will particularly love stretching out on the terracotta tiles that are warmed by underfloor heating in the spacious kitchen/diner – a lovely space for getting together over a meal. After a day out walking, cosy up with your canine pals on one of the large, leather sofas around the wood burner in the lounge and relax in front of a film. Outside, there is a safe, enclosed garden with a large lawn and a patio area where you can sit in the sunshine while the dogs explore the new sounds and smells. There is also a lovely veranda overlooking the river, perfect for al fresco meals and drinks on sunny days. If the weather is not so good, take advantage of the garden room, which has a selection of games including table tennis and table football, a Smart TV, DVD player and games console.

With the river running close by, you can enjoy lovely walks straight from your front door or head out into the breathtaking Brecon Beacons for doggy days out in the invigorating Welsh mountains. The Welsh town of Crickhowell is just 5 miles away, with its ruined castle, canal and riverside walks, shops and cafes to explore. Take a day trip to literary Hay-on-Wye (20 miles), and after a stroll around the many bookshops of this pretty town enjoy a picnic on the banks of the picturesque River Wye.

Loved our stay at the Wern Barn. Pleased with the games room and garden for dogs. Great facilities in the kitchen. Great location. Learnt to read the walk guides better after a very long wrong and unnecessary trek round a lake. Abergavenny was a nice town and Hay-on-Wye delightful. The local walk around Crickhowell was good, the canals and River UsRead morek , then up into the mountains of Brecon. So much to see and even the weather wasnt too bad. Hide

This is a spacious and comfortable property. The kitchen is lovely and very well equipped. The garden room was useful as an additional space. Also the two outdoor seating areas. The enclosed garden was perfect for our very active toddler and dog. We loved the horses.

Lovely barn conversion with plenty of space for a large party. Attractive to families with children but youngsters would need supervision due to stream and animals. Easy access to Crickhowell and plenty of countryside to explore. Several pubs/restaurants within reach, supermarkets rather sparse but accessible in Brecon or Abergavenny. A lovely, comfortable and well-stocked holiday cottage. Great to be in the middle of a working farm with, horses and sheep. Our dog immediately decided it was a farm dog and wanted to join the very friendly farm dogs. Lovely walks and a beautiful stream, great pub in walking distance. The farm is really well positioned for access to Crickhowell/HayRead more/Brecon and all the activities at Llangorse lake. One really minor issue is that there is a bit of traffic noise but great for a family break. Hide

Clean, well equipped (inc. provisions for young children e.g. cutlery, toys, potty seat), cosy and warm, easy to find location with parking for 2-3 cars, but most importantly very welcoming host who were approachable and kind. Highly recommended for families and would stay again.
