This characterful cottage, set amidst the greenery of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is the perfect rural retreat for a family break with the pups. Sleeping five humans and two canines, everyone can explore the abundance of walkies, beaches and attractions that this stunning area has to offer. After a day of hunting for fossils along the Jurassic Coast, return to your picturesque home-from-home to cosy up around the wood burner with hot chocolates and a salty sea dog.
Relax in the lounge on the comfy sofas with a content pooch enjoying a belly rub, whilst you appreciate the original features of the room, such as the wooden beams and the cosy wood burner set in the inglenook fireplace. Socialise around the dining table, whilst keeping an eye on dinner bubbling on the stove in the beautiful farmhouse-style kitchen/diner. The useful utility room next door is perfect for dusting off sandy paws and storing boots and raincoats used after seaside walks. Rest in the calming double bedroom, with ‘olde worlde’ charm and awake refreshed to enjoy a morning coffee in the south-facing garden. There are two single bedrooms also.
Venturing outside from the rear door, a few steps lead you to a gate and into the pretty south facing walled garden. On warmer evenings, dine alfresco on the patio, or fire up the BBQ and watch the kids and Fido scamper around the enclosed garden in the sunshine. Let Fido take the lead on the South Dorset Ridgeway, with walks starting from the picturesque, monastic village of Abbotsbury, 16 miles away. Dig holes, fetch sticks and dip paws and toes in the salty waves at the dog-friendly Monmouth beach (15 miles). Visit the famous Cobb and harbour of Lyme Regis (14 miles) and join the South West Coast Path and go as far as your two, or four, legs will take you.
