Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Well located and well equipped. Quiet with several walks from the cottage. Walkable distance to Hawkshead and Tarn Hows. Would definitely book again.

Lovely property in a fabulous location with great views from the garden. The road is very quiet so no traffic noise, all we could hear were birds singing and lambs bleating. Bedrooms good sizes with plenty storage (although no wardrobe in the master bedroom or either of the singles). Really comfortable beds. The kitchen has plenty of pots and pans Read moreetc and most other things you can think of, including a stick blender and kitchen scales. There are 2 fridges and a freezer. The living/dining room whilst big enough for our party of 6 would be a bit of a squeeze with more. Comfortable seating however and a lovely view of the garden. Lots of books and games to keep us amused. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of walks. Would recommend the 6 mile walk to Tarn Howes and back (save on the parking fees!) Also within half an hour drive of the Langdales if you fancy a mountain hike. Wray castle is also worth a visit, although currently the castle itself is closed for renovations, the grounds are beautiful. If you fancy a meal out we recommend the Queens Head in Hawkshead, amazing food and a good choice for vegans too. Hide

Great cottage - really clean, tidy and warm. Loads of equipment in the kitchen, loads of logs in the garage, loaads of space to park. We weren't disappointed by the lack of a dishwasher - we'd brought two with us! All in all a terrific place to stay and we'll definitely be back. All in all, one of the best cottages we've stayed in around the Lakes.

The cleaning wasnt very good due to finding dirty bottles under one of the single beds. We would have liked a dishwasher too. Also in the same single room there were cobwebs on the rafter which was touchable. Garden wasnt complete secure/dog friendly due to the fencing having gaps. Also being able to go around to the front of the house the gate wasRead morent filled in so any smaller dog or child could get through. Hide

We enjoyed a wonderful week. The cottage was in a lovely, quiet location with a great patio and garden. The location was in easy reach of towns Hawkshead and Coniston, wonderful walks and forests. Thank you for the local edible gifts.

This is a beautiful, spacious, comfortable, well equipped cottage. The narrow lanes around it are annoying but not too much!

This is a beautiful clean cottage, with an amazing garden! It has everything you need if you want to do self catering and for the rest of your stay. A short drive or even walk from the main lakes, with plenty of other beautiful walks in what is an idyllic location. I can also recommend the local pub for good food

It is a lovely holiday cottage. The space was perfect for our stay (four adults and three children) of which one had mobility issues so the downstairs bedroom and walk in shower were great. The location was useful for a mixture of walks around lakes and up mountains. There was everything in the kitchen which we needed to be self catered and the garRead moreden was just right for the kids to play. Hide

We loved our week at Black Fell Cottage. The property itself is cosy, and the location is beautiful and peaceful. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped whilst the enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs to safely explore. This is a well equipped cosy cottage and surprisingly spacious, we had no problems with 8 adults. Having cycle storage was a big bonus for us. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice and the kitchen well equipped. We were there in extreme snowy icy weather and struggled a bit with the access roads, until eventually we gritted the yard and the roaRead mored outside from bins further up the road. Location is great for short walks from house to Tarn Hause in particular. We had a great time. Hide
