You can enjoy preparing and sharing all your favourite family meals in the bright and attractive kitchen/diner which has an original stable door opening out onto the garden. Two delightful bedrooms can be found on the first floor – a restful double room with plenty of storage space, and a cosy twin room with lovely rural views. Outside, the beautiful and unusual woodland garden has slate paths winding through the trees and features two chairs carved from tree stumps. There’s also a large patio with outdoor furniture so you can sit back, watch the dogs play and admire the stunning countryside views.
Lying at the head of the magnificent Esthwaite Water and with a number of dog-friendly pubs offering refreshment, Hawkshead is a fabulous base for dogs and their owners. There are miles of wonderful walks in this idyllic area, with highlights including Tarn Hows (2 miles) and Claife Heights (5 miles). You can also accompany your dogs on trips across Windermere, on steam railway trips or in the grounds of Wray Castle (3.5 miles) and Grizedale Forest (3 miles).
