A romantic trip for two can be enjoyed here in the Lake District, and your couples’ retreat wouldn’t be the same without your canine companion by your side every step of the way. Wandering around the local village of Hawkshead, enjoying walks on the banks of Windermere and sniffing out adventure on one of the fells will happily fill your short break with adventure - leaving the three of you rested, refreshed and rejuvenated.
All set out on one level, this cottage is a perfectly cosy spot for three. The homely decor has a countryside feel, accentuated by original period features such as the feature fireplace. Unwind on cold evenings in the toasty lounge, where you can watch TV or sit down to a board game whilst your beloved hound curls up by the open fire. Enjoy breakfast first thing in the morning at the window-side dining table, enjoying views out to the pretty village. Be sure to make use of the outdoor space wherever possible as the pretty patio is the perfect spot for morning coffee or an evening tipple, and the enclosed lawn provides your dog with a delightful area to wander.
There are plenty of waterfront walkies on offer here in the Lakes, including Esthwaite Water just 1.5 miles down the road and the famous Windermere, a 3-mile walk away. Walk 4 miles to the Claife Viewing Station to enjoy far-reaching scenic views, before boarding the ferry and visiting the pretty town of Bowness (10 miles). Set tails wagging with some tiring treks up Cumbria’s fells, including Scafell Pike (30 miles) and the Helvellyn mountain range (13 miles). On retiring to Hawkshead, enjoy a stop off in a dog-friendly pub that’s less than 500 metres from your doorstep.
