The beautiful lodge sleeps two guests and one dog, making it perfect for a romantic rural getaway with your loved one. Wake up to the sound of birds singing, thanks to the secluded countryside location, and enjoy sunset strolls along the sandy beaches of Cornwall’s north coast (just 18 miles away). The piece de resistance for the pooch will be the vast enclosed lawned garden.
Bi-folding doors flood this property with light and on a warm summer’s day throw them open so you and the hound can drift in and out and make the most of the wonderful outdoor space. The interior is crisp and modern, featuring grey tones with splashes of colour, and exposed beams add character and warmth. Hard floors run throughout the accommodation, so you can easily wipe up muddy pawprints, and the woofer will really welcome the underfloor heating when they curl up for a siesta. Outside, you’ll find outdoor furniture so you can enjoy breakfast alfresco whilst the dog burns off some steam.
The National Trust managed Lydford Gorge (15 miles away), on the edge of Dartmoor, is a truly magical place and is a lovely shady spot to walk your furry friend on a hot day. With its thundering waterfalls and luscious plants, it feels like an enchanted forest. Just remember to keep the pooch on a lead. Equally mystical, is the stunning Tintagel Castle and Brent Tor. Steeped in myth and legend and set high on Cornwall’s rugged north coast, it’s a breathtaking place to visit. From Tintagel you can set off on a wild and windy walk along the dramatic coast (obviously keep the dog safe near the cliff edge). If you fancy heading out for dinner one night, there’s a charming dog-friendly pub just 2 miles from the property.
