Set in a tranquil and idyllic location on a picturesque smallholding, this New England-style lodge is a romantic rural retreat for couples, young families and canine companions. Within easy drive of both the Devon and Cornwall coasts, it is ideally located for long walks on the beach and along blustery cliff-top climbs above with the dog. Back at the lodge, the delightful open-plan accommodation has been lovingly finished throughout while the decked patio and enclosed lawn garden beyond are perfect for children and dogs alike.
Inside, the spacious lounge/diner is equipped with everything you and your faithful friends should need, from modern kitchen appliances to plump sofas and a TV/DVD player for those relaxing evenings in. At the end of a long day on foot, enjoy a relaxing soak in the roll-top bath before resting your weary head in one of the two beautifully-presented bedrooms. In the morning, step out onto the decked terrace to enjoy a cup of coffee al fresco while your pooch explores the large enclosed lawn beyond. If you’re travelling with children, don’t miss the chance to visit the resident chickens, turkeys and geese, all of which can be found on the smallholding.
The pretty village of Clovelly is just 5 miles away and, with its traffic-free cobbled streets, guided tours and museum, is well worth a visit. Continue along the North Devon coastline to reach the vast sandy beaches at Croyde, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, all of which welcome dogs at various times in the year and boast laid back vibes, ice cream parlours and cosy pubs.
