Property code: TRHOU

Sitting prettily in the middle of a row of thatched cottages, this property could be the vanilla portion of a tub of creamy Neapolitan ice-cream. If you’re looking to experience a quintessential Devon home-from-home, you need look no further as this cottage is perfect for a family or two couples wanting a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life along with their precious pup. With easy access to glorious country walks and long sandy beaches, there’s so much here for the whole family to do.

Overflowing with country charm, the cottage is warm and welcoming with a muted palette of blues and greens perfectly accentuating the milky white walls. There are quirky period features which provide clues to the history of the house, such as exposed wooden beams, slanted ceilings and interesting nooks and crannies that are just waiting to be explored. The wood burner in the open-plan lounge/dining area provides a cosy warmth on even the coldest of evenings and the cute enclosed patio garden that’s reached via the kitchen provides an excellent spot to sit and enjoy an evening glass of wine after a tiring day of adventure.

Situated less than 200-meters from the village centre of Winkleigh, you are within walking distance of a selection of pubs and convenience shops. Summerleaze Beach, a golden sandy surfing beach in Bude, is a picturesque 29-mile drive from the property and the perfect place for you and your pup to enjoy digging in the sand and splashing in waves. Quince Honey Farm (16 miles) is a fantastic place for all the family, even the four-legged members, and it offers beekeeping tours and a range of activities.

Great location for exploring the north coast of Devon and Dartmoor. The cottage was clean, warm and well equipped and the beds comfortable. Street parking was good, we were able to park outside the cottage. Nice village, good local pub.

This is an idyllic, quirky cottage in a peaceful setting, yet moments from two delightful pubs, a shop and veggie cafe. Short drive to the tarka trail. Cosy woodburner really made out winter short break perfect. Electric heaters kept whole place very warm. Highly recommend.
