Perched on the edge of the Devon/Cornwall border, the location of this bright and spacious holiday barn is ideal for large families or groups of friends wanting to discover the very best of the South West. With so many places to walk and explore, from gentle woodland strolls to bracing clifftop hikes, this is a holiday you could happily invite a couple of canine pals along to; safe in the knowledge there’ll be plenty around to keep them entertained.
The converted barn sits within a tranquil countryside complex of five individual properties set around a shared courtyard. A children’s play area, pet corner, games barn and private coarse fishing lake on-site make this an ideal place for anyone with children or teenagers to stay. Inside the barn is warm and welcoming, with a living space that incorporates a large open-plan lounge/dining area with comfortable leather sofas that invite you to sink into them after a long day of walkies. A wood burner is a cosy addition to the room and on cooler evenings mean you can relax and warm your tired paws. Stripped wooden doors, painted brickwork and sloped ceilings in the bedroom add to the character of the barn.
If you can bear to take a break from all the on-site activities, you’ll be rewarded with a whole host of fun and dog-friendly days out and activities. Launceston Steam Railway (9-miles) offers train rides for people and pups through the unspoilt Cornish countryside and there’s a café serving delicious cakes and sandwiches for when you’ve ended your journey. Beach lovers will appreciate Widemouth Bay (18-miles) in particular the southern end, that welcomes dogs all year round. Shops, pubs, restaurants and a weekly market can be sniffed out in the traditional market town of Holsworthy (5-miles).
