All aboard the holiday express! This magical property is a lovingly converted railway carriage, located on a 468-acre nature reserve full of wildlife, wide skies, and only 200 metres from the beach. It’s a beautiful getaway, ideal for a small family or a couple who love the dramatic romance of nature.
Inside the property is a lounge with a wood burner and a telescope so you can stay cosy in the evenings and watch the stars. Make delicious food in the kitchen/diner and open the bi-folding doors to enjoy incredible views as you eat. You’ll find two bedrooms: one double and another which can be styled either as a single cabin bed or another double. There are plenty of features which indicate the original use, including exposed beams and an unconventional shape. The ceiling can be low in places, so tall guests should watch their heads. You’ll find two decking areas, one on either side of the property, perfect for morning coffee. There isn’t an enclosed garden but the land runs down to the nearby beach.
The dog-friendly Dungeness Beach is only 200 metres away and perfect for skipping stones, swimming, water sports or picnics. Just 200 metres in the opposite direction you’ll find the Dungeness Old Lighthouse, which is fun to explore and, on clear days, offers a view all the way to France. Dogs aren’t allowed on the nearby RSPB reserve to protect ground-nesting birds, but you can watch them fly around and dip in and out of the sea. If you’d like to visit a nearby town, New Romney is 6.5 miles away and full of nice, dog-friendly pubs.
