Treat yourself to a luxurious stay in this grand Grade II-listed building. Originally a coaching inn, this property was converted into a holiday home for a mixed group with one dog, combining the traditional features such as a cocktail bar with new amenities like a hot tub.
As you enter, you’ll find that no expense has been spared with restoration. There’s a well-equipped kitchen with a small table for on-the-go snacks, and when you want a full meal, visit the separate dining room. It’s finished with a chandelier and oil paintings for a touch of old-world opulence, which you’ll also find in the drawing room. This space is illuminated by the patio doors, so during the daytime it’s bathed in natural light and as the evening begins, you can increase the cosiness by lighting a fire. The final ground-floor room is a bar with an open fire, a chaise lounge, and everything you might need for delicious drinks. Continue upstairs to find the five bedrooms. There are two super-king-size rooms, two king-size rooms, and a twin bedroom. In the garden, you’ll see a hot tub, an outdoor seating area, a large lawn for the dogs to play and a charcoal BBQ. Sizzle some sausages here, then enjoy them in the afternoon sun while sitting in the outdoor dining area.
When you’re ready to venture out, you’ll find lots of walks around the beautiful Sussex countryside to stretch Fido’s legs. A top attraction must be the Pashley Manor Gardens, 3.5 miles away, where you’ll find unusual trees and lots of flowers to be thoroughly sniffed. Dogs are welcome. You could also enjoy an afternoon in Hastings (12.5 miles) for history and beaches, including the dog-friendly Hastings Beach, or you could journey to Tunbridge Wells, 15.5 miles for hearty pub lunches and excellent shopping.
