Embrace countryside living at this quaint and cosy cottage, which you’ll find in the heart of the Sussex village of Brede. Enjoy the surrounding High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many footpaths and trails criss-crossing the rolling hills. With two comfortable bedrooms, the property is perfect for families or small groups of friends and one of their four-legged companions.
Peace and tranquillity await at the picket-fenced cottage. Step straight into the well-lit lounge and unwind beneath the original exposed beams beside the striking inglenook fireplace, which add olde-worlde charm to an otherwise contemporary living space. A low beam ceiling in the kitchen retains much of the cottage’s original charm too—just make sure the cook minds their head! The dog and any children will love the enclosed courtyard garden, playing while you fire up the BBQ for an al fresco dinner. Back inside, head up the cottage-style staircase to the first floor where you will find the two bedrooms: a double and a twin.
Meet the friendly locals at Brede’s delightful village pub, where you can collect fresh bread each day and even sample their delicious takeaway fish and chips. No visit to this area is complete without discovering the fascinating and beautifully restored steam water pumps at The Giants of Brede (1 mile). Head 5 miles to the coastal towns of Hastings and Rye, with beachfront amenities, independent shops and an array of dog-friendly beaches to choose from, as well as Hastings’ famous pier. Alexandra Park is also worth a visit (6.5 miles), known for its diverse wildlife, active boating lake, and flower and rose gardens.
