You’re sure to set your dog’s tail a wagging when you book a stay at this delightful Cotswold cottage! Located in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the surrounding countryside provides gorgeous walking opportunities along a network of way-marked footpaths and bridleways, plus plenty of other canine-friendly outings for you and your four-legged companions to enjoy.
Your base for this Cotswold retreat is a cosy cottage in the village of Bourton-on-the-Water. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms – plus two waggy-tailed friends – the property is a comfy mix of traditional and modern, with an original stone wall in the living room and exposed beams in the dining space. Outside, you can relax at the end of the day in the comfort of the enclosed and furnished courtyard.
The immediate area offers plenty for two legs and four legs alike. Within ¼ mile of your door you will find nine acres of gardens and woodland waiting to be explored at dog-friendly Birdland, while your hound would love to join you on the Windrush Way, which starts in Bourton-on-the-Water and leads you 14 miles through glorious countryside to the town of Winchcombe. Further afield, Cheltenham is 16 miles to the west, where you and your pack can sniff around the Regency buildings, pampered pooches can visit one of the town’s grooming parlours or you can relax in Sandford Park after a trip round the shops. Time it right and your visit can coincide with the lido’s annual ‘dog swim’ where you and your pup can splash around together in the park’s public pool.
