A period cottage set in the village of Moorsholm just 10 miles from the fishing village of Staithes. An ideal base for walkers and cyclists, the dog-friendly cottage offers an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a courtyard garden and easy access to cultural, historic and natural attractions across the North York Moors National Park and North Yorkshire Heritage Coast.
Talls will be wagging upon arrival at this two-storey cottage, which is situated on a quiet street surrounded by an eclectic mixture of properties. Its interior is quirky and cheerful, with natural light able to fill all corners of its bright and spacious rooms. After a day scampering across the moors, curl up with loved ones in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner for fortifying meals, film nights or just cuddles in front of the wood burner. An open staircase in the lounge leads up to an open-plan landing, from which a double bedroom, two single bedrooms and a shower room can be found only a few pawprints apart. The courtyard garden at the rear of the cottage is a real suntrap and a place for books, refreshments or a good old-fashioned dog nap.
The North York Moors National Park and North Yorkshire Heritage Coast offer endless activities for guests on two and four paws. Dogs will love exploring the streets and shorelines at Staithes (10 miles) as well as the bustling resorts of Whitby and Saltburn (within 16.5 miles). Dogs are welcome aboard the steam trains that puff their way along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway between Whitby and Pickering, taking in breathtaking scenery en route.
