Property code: 46502

The compact property provides the perfect romantic escape for you and a favourite two-legged and four-legged friend, with a myriad of outdoor adventures and cosy nights in front of the wood burner waiting to be enjoyed by the three of you. Within easy reach of Gloucester, you are just 3 miles away from padding the historic pavements of this cathedral city, while the Gloucestershire Way runs a few hundred metres from your door and provides access to miles of walks through glorious countryside and along the banks of the River Severn.

Your base for your Gloucestershire getaway is a delectable converted dairy barn in a traditional farm setting, complete with fruit picking in the summer, lambing in the spring and alpacas all year round. Your single-storey stone hideaway is the perfect amalgamation of inside and outside space, with a cosy lounge opening directly on to your own private gated courtyard, allowing your faithful friend to come and go as they please while you kick back and sink into a sofa, recline on the covered terrace or light up the BBQ to dine alfresco.

Although there are superb walking and cycling routes on your doorstep, there is still plenty to encourage you to venture further afield. The Forest of Dean offers plenty of stick-chasing opportunities just 10 miles to the west. Journeying through the forest will lead you to the River Wye – the ideal setting for a riverside picnic and splash about as you watch, or even join, the canoeists and kayakers playing in the water.

The Dairy was perfect for me, apart from one step from the kitchen, it is all on one level and is very well equipped. It is within easy reach of Gloucester so buying provisions was easy, as was accessing the attractions within the city. There are plenty of attractions nearby. The owners are friendly and helpful and I enjoyed meeting the Alpaca and Read morehelping feeding them. I would be happy to visit again, I was made to feel really welcome. Hide

Such a great property, with an enclosed garden and everything you would need for a week away. Hosts were welcoming, with good communication and the property clean. It's in a good location with access to the Forest of Dean, Malvern hills and Cotswolds.

We had a fabulous time at this beautiful cottage! We had our cocker spaniel with us that loved the garden. It had everything we needed in it. We visited all of the local countryside and the old steam railway. The owners were very welcoming.

All in all we had a nice stay - well placed to visit Gloucester and many of the Cotswolds villages. The reception was friendly, with Prosecco, cake and fresh eggs on the table. Evenings in the courtyard were mainly calm, with birds nesting and ducks and chicken around (unfortunately the roosters started at 3 AM, so better bring earplugs!). The inteRead morernet was a bit weak - sites to check opening hours etc. not always opened, but it was okay for whatsapp. Hide
