The cottage was very adequate for our needs as we ate out most nights. We cannot walk in the way we used to so all journeys were made by car which was adequately housed in the area outside the cottage.

What a beautiful, comfortable, well equipped cottage. We had a fabulous stay, enjoying the local sights and having some down time. If you like peace and quiet, cosy surroundings and dark, starry nights, Bag End is the perfect choice.

Lovely little cottage. Great walks from the door, especially down to the reservoir. The bed was firm - fine for us but if you like a soft bed, you might struggle. Theres no phone signal but the WiFi is decent. The pub next door does good food and is really handy. Great location to explore the Peak District. The only downside for us is dogs arent alRead morelowed on sofas (or upstairs) (floor is stone flags) which is the only reason we probably wouldnt return or recommend to our dog owner friends. Hide

Very well designed makes very good use of a small house. Red Lion next door serves excellent meals. Booking is recommended. Easy walk over the fields to Carsington Water. The visitors centre has a pleasant restaurant The 110 bus stops in the village by the Church and also at a bus shelter further down the road. Check the timetable on line though.

We had an excellent stay, the cottage was lovely. There was a lot of thought and consideration for the guests staying. Including milk in the fridge. It was perfectly located for the activities we had planned.
