This idyllically situated one-bedroom cottage is the perfect base for a break with your four-pawed friends. Ideal for couples seeking a quiet break, up to two doggies are welcome to this rural holiday let. Fourteen acres of unspoilt countryside surround the property, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, so it’s possible your pets will benefit from a break here more than you! The scent of nature close at hand is bound to have your canine pals excited for walkies.

After you’ve enjoyed the great outdoors, there’s nowhere better to curl up than in the cosy lounge, where there’s a wood burner, squashy sofas and a rug for dozy dogs to stretch out on. The open-plan living area gives easy access from the lounge to the kitchen and dining area. You’ll find everything you could need in the well-equipped kitchen, and the king-size bedroom is a wonderful retreat after a busy day, furnished in a neutral country cottage style. If the great outdoors isn’t exercise enough, you can indulge in a gym session on-site. For quieter moments, why not retire to the patio to take in rural views from the comfort of an awaiting bench. Alternatively, enjoy the scenery from the conservatory, where you and your pets can bask in the sunshine, comfortably out of the elements.

Beyond the attractions of fresh air, great country walks and on-site coarse fishing exclusively for guests, are some wonderful visitor attractions, including the Churnet Valley steam railway (9 miles), the National Trust gardens of Biddulph Grange (10 miles), and Consall Gardens (7 miles). The market town of Leek is just under 5 miles away. Known as the ‘Queen of the Moorlands’, Leek has a variety of interesting shops and fantastic local produce to keep your kitchen cupboards well-stocked.

This was an exceptionally peaceful cottage. Though near the farmhouse it looked out on lovely country scenery and felt as if it was all on its own. The only sound we could hear was birds. It was a treat to watch the gold finches feeding on the patio. We had everything needed for our comfort and convenience and lots of places to go without travellinRead moreg far. This gem of a cottage is a lovely peaceful retreat for 2, good facilities, nice comfortable bed and the whirlpool bath is a bonus after a long days walk. Stunning scenery which you can admire from the conservatory and a safe garden for your furry friends to enjoy.

Couldnt fault anything,for a self catering cottage this place is exceptional ,spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need and the owners are a delightful couple and very helpful, we definitely will return someday hopefully sooner rather than later

Stunning cottage and location, spotlessly clean, lovely surroundings and walks, great fishing on site, had 3 4 hour sessions and managed between 50-70lb quite easy, fresh eggs available on site and very friendly and welcoming hosts. Will definitely be back for another visit

Set in lovely surroundings, this cottage is spacious, warm and cosy. It had everything we needed and was very well appointed. You could easily spend your days relaxing here and enjoying the views.
