Upstairs, there are three double bedrooms that you can retire to in comfort, in the knowledge that the views will impeccable when you draw back the curtains in the morning. There is also a family bathroom with a bath, shower and WC. This cottage is one of three properties in this location. Booked together, the properties can sleep up to 20 people.

A 2-mile drive away is the 7.5-mile Hartington Walking Route, leading you through the quaint and picturesque village of Hartington and through the unsurpassable Derbyshire countryside to the archaeological site of Pilsbury Castle. This is an excellent venue for a family getaway. It is in a beautiful setting and the cottage is very warm, even in the cold of winter. The rooms are well sized and the facilities are good. The hosts are very helpful and the single track down to the property is not as daunting as might appear.

3 out of 5 as it is let down by the kitchen, this could be a 5 out of 5 if they upgrade the kitchen

Lovely location, beautiful walks all around. We were lucky enough to see runners passing close by on annual run,the Dipper, 26 miles in length.

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location - off the beaten track but the instructions were clear and we made it relatively easily despite the dark, the gales and driving rain! There were lovely walks from the doorstep, but also wonderful destinations such as Thor's Cave and Buxton within easy reach. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Lovely cottage - very peaceful and lots of nice walks from the doorstep. The access road took a bit of getting used to, but was very quiet so not too much trouble. Would recommend.
