With two bedrooms, this is the ideal location for families to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the heart of the Peak District. Four-legged guests can sniff out the best shady spot in the courtyard garden and enjoy a good romp around the adjacent field.

Go mutts for this enchanting converted barn with traditional features and comfortable accommodation where two and four-legged guests can relax and unwind. A well located cottage near Bakewell and lots of lovely walks in the area. We stayed with 2 friends and all felt the cottage was more suited to two adults in the larger bedroom and two children in the smaller room. There is a wardrobe in the larger bedroom but just a tiny rack in the smaller bedroom to hang clothes. There are no plugs near the dreRead moressing tables and mirrors for ladies to dry their hair. We also found the lack of hooks on the back of the bathroom doors and bedroom doors was an especially added hinderance to the lack of hanging space in the smaller room. The kettle leaks when pouring so really needs replacing. Our friends who slept in the smaller room also found the mattresses to be uncomfortable although this wasnt the case in the larger bedroom. We enjoyed our stay due to the location and the variety of walks nearby but wouldnt return. Hide

We reserved Granary Cottage near Bakewell because we were looking forward to a peaceful getaway from the stresses of daily life. The cottage is in itself perfectly good and the location is excellent for Chatsworth House, Monsal Trail etc etc The only drawback is the interconnecting door between Granary Cottage and Stable Barn. It appears thatRead more the TV from the neighbouring stable barn is right next to this door. Unfortunately, our neighbours were both avid TV viewers and apparently hard of hearing, resulting in a significant noise nuisance in Granary Barn. My wife and I both enjoy sitting and relaxing with a good book, but the TV noise from next door made this impossible. As a result, we decided to cut short our break and return home a day early due to the constant noise. This issue would be lessened in the future if the aforementioned TV in the Stable Barn was moved away from the interconnecting door Hide

Lovely cottage in the beautiful, quiet location of Ashford-in-the-Water- ideally situated for visiting major places and attractions (Monsal Trail, Bakewell, Chatsworth etc) Well equipped for 3- 4 people - nice comfy beds and seating/dining area. One of the showers didn't adjust too well and the television has quite a small screen to view from the fRead morear side of the sofa or furthest chair. However, provided that the shower was sorted, we would not hesitate to book Granary Barn again. Hide
