Situated on the edge of a peaceful hamlet this cosy stone cottage boasts wonderful views across unspoilt countryside, close to the bustling village of Eyam. Tails will be wagging at this rural retreat, where couples and their furry friends can enjoy a relaxing break with long walks straight from the doorstep. Take a pleasant stroll to the village pub to sample a local ale, or a gentle walk along the river at nearby Bakewell – this is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday.
The cottage’s comfortable lounge is the perfect place to rest weary paws after a long walk around the area. The focus of the room is the large wood burner set within a traditional gritstone fireplace. Squishy sofas and soft rugs are positioned for two and four-legged guests to relax and enjoy the warmth from the stove. Sit around the dining table and enjoy a meal produced in the fully-equipped kitchen. Upstairs you will find a spacious double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Outside is a lovely patio area where you can sit and watch the sun setting over the fields.
Step out of your front door to enjoy some lovely countryside walks among the rolling hills that surround Highcliffe. Stroll to the historic plague village of Eyam (1.5 miles) for a relaxed drink in the dog-friendly village pub, visit the museum and enjoy a tasty treat in the tearoom. Your canine companion can accompany you for a visit to the Blue John Cavern at Castleton (9 miles) to discover how this unusual stone is mined. For a memorable adventure, take your dog for a ride on the vintage tram at Crich (20 miles) which makes regular stops for woodland walks and to discover the sculpture trail. Everyone in your party can enjoy a hearty lunch at the restored public house where dogs are very welcome.
