Enjoying an idyllic location in the Hope Valley, this wonderful barn conversion is full of traditional features including exposed beams and flagstone floors. With three bedrooms, the spacious property is the perfect opportunity for families, furry friends included, to enjoy the views across the valley from the orchard garden, discover the many countryside walks straight from the doorstep, or relax over a leisurely lunch in one of the dog-friendly pubs.

Your holiday home is set in large grounds with stunning views across the unspoilt countryside. The open-plan living space is full of charm and character. Your canine companions will love basking in the warmth from the Yorkshire range fireplace while you settle into one of the comfy sofas and relax after a day walking the glorious hills. Rustle up a meal in the well-equipped kitchen before sitting around the farmhouse-style dining table to share a sociable supper. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a twin, all with exposed ceiling beams and views across the gardens. A light and airy bathroom can also be found on this floor. Outside is a doggy paradise with an orchard garden that will get tails wagging - take a leisurely stroll around the grounds or share an al fresco meal at one of the picnic tables.

Pick up the lead and wander to Hope village (0.5 miles) where you will find independent shops, a 13th-century church and dog-friendly pubs. Explore the ruins of Peveril Castle, high on the hilltop above Castleton (1.5 miles) or if your hound has plenty of stamina, challenge yourself with a day walking the Great Ridge. Sniff out Castleton’s dog-friendly underground caves and discover how Blue John stone is manufactured before stopping for lunch at one of the village cafes where four-legged diners are more than welcome.

Great location for Win Hill and Hope Valley including Castleton. The house was thoroughly clean when we got there but always felt a bit cramped with 6 people (4 adults, 2 kids) plus a dog. Not the end of the world though. Very quiet at night and very relaxing. Electrical goods in the kitchen need updating.

Alice's cottage is beautifully comfortable, warm and welcoming. The location is beautiful - great views and wonderful walks on the doorstep. And an easy walk to the lovely Cheshire Cheese pub! Owners have created a great atmosphere and are on hand, if needed, but give you all the space you need to relax . We had a wonderful time.

Great location for lots of walking trails. Accommodation was suitable for the 5 adults and one large dog in our party. Facilities were just as described in the booking information. A quirky and cosy place to stay.

Lovely peaceful cottage, beautiful setting and thoughtfully looked after. Worked well for four of us with two dogs. Friendly owners with friendly dogs are on hand close by if needed. Lovely 20 mins walk along a green lane into Hope village for breakfast. Perfectly positioned for visiting Castleton, the skyline and Derwent Valley.

Lovely cottage in perfect rural setting. Well equipped and comfortable. Lots of walking from the door - the trip up Win Hill is worth the effort for the views. Mountain hares seen in the fields around the cottage too. We had a brilliant week and totally loved the Peak District.
