Perfect for you and your four-legged friends, this cottage is the place for people who love walking. With views of Shutlingsloe Hill from the garden and many walks close at hand, this lovely cottage is set in an undeniably beautiful area which is just waiting to be explored. On the doorstep of the Peak District National Park, one of the UK’s most impressive natural landscapes, it is a haven for walkers which also warmly welcomes up to two dogs. Although located near to the owner’s property, your privacy at the cottage is assured.

 

Recharge your batteries in this traditional cottage which has a tastefully-decorated kitchen/diner equipped with all the necessities for a comfortable stay for you and your four-pawed friends, while the upstairs lounge area has breathtaking far-reaching views of the glorious surrounding landscape. There is also a bathroom located on the ground floor providing ample space for those muddy boots and for easy cleaning of muddy paws. Outside is a garden with patio seating area for you to relax and unwind in the beautiful surrounds after a day spent trout fishing or traversing the steep, craggy peaks of the National Park.

 

Wincle (1 mile) is the nearest village, home to a friendly inn which welcomes families and dogs. The walker and dog-friendly local pub at Allgreave (2 miles) also offers a warm welcome, while Wincle Brewery (1 mile) is well worth a visit for ‘eccentric English ales’. The Roaches (said to have once been home to wild wallabies) and Ramshaw Rocks (both 7 miles) offer unusual sculpted rock scenery, all adding to the mythology of this spectacular yet tranquil area. Don’t forget to visit the attractive spa town of Buxton (10 miles), the highest market town in England.

Cottage is perfected located with great places to eat not far. It has all amenities and owner always available with any queries. Owner is very helpful and appreciate the welcome products Thankyou Views are amazing and very peaceful Thankyou for a lovely stay and will hopefully be back.

What a gem of a place, a complete find. So clean, comfortable and cosy. It was very well equipped, everything had been thought of and more including lovely touches to make you feel welcome. We've just returned from a wonderful stay at Clough Brook Cottage. The owners, Suzanne and John were lovely. The cottage was very well equipped, homely, comfortable and clean and in the perfect spot! A lovely cottage with plenty of room for the three of us and our dog Reggie. Loved sitting out in the garden morning and late afternoon watching the sheep and cows. Very relaxing .The owners chickens were also entertaining. They had there own enclosed area so no need to worry about your dog. Plenty of local interesting walks nearby and from the cotRead moretage. We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Lots of places to visit. We went to many, including Jodrell Bank, the Anderton boat lift and the Roaches. Good walk from the cottage down to the pub in Danesbridge.

Great location for exploring some fabulous local walks in a less commercial side of the Peak District. Quiet location. Comfortable and homely property, everything you need with friendly helpful hosts. Two pubs and brewery short drive away (Ship Inn very good). No local shops so take what you need. However, great village store and dog friendly cafe Read morein Sutton, 4 miles away with great walks in nearby Macclesfield Forrest. Really enjoyed our four night break and would definitely return. Just the best long weekend. Hosts are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The cottage is a real home from home. Perfect location, very comfortable and very well equipped. A lovely well equipped cottage which was very nicely furnished. We enjoyed our stay. Only one minor quibble, the shower downstairs was a bit small and not particularly comfortable but this did not detract from our stay. Would definitely go back. The views are amazing.

Special little cottage in a peaceful location. Owners very friendly and generously provide lots of extras. Really appreciated the home baked bread, books, magazines and games. No phone signal but good wifi for wifi calling.

The cottage is immaculate and has interesting art works and plenty of books for a rainy day . Suzanne and John are most welcoming and helpful. The bread, eggs and marmalade a great success !
