This charming property at the foot of the Black Mountains provides the ideal setting for a rural, romantic retreat in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside close to the Welsh border. Situated in the sleepy hamlet of Clodock, immerse yourselves in the tranquillity, admire the breath taking views and soak up the fresh country air as you decide which walking adventure you and your canine companion will embark on today. At the end of a busy day, you can stop off at the pub before stumbling the 500 metres back to the comfort of your warm, cosy shepherd’s hut.
This beautiful property, in the grounds of the owners’ farm, has been decorated in a stunning country-style. There is exquisite attention to detail, such as the wooden worktop, Belfast sink and elegant fittings, which are all in keeping with its rural setting. This is contemporary, compact living at its finest. The kitchen is well-equipped, the bedroom is cosy and comfortable and the shower room is clean and tidy. The underfloor heating means this property is the perfect place to stay come rain, shine or snow, but al fresco dining on the balcony is probably best in the sun.
The surrounding countryside offers a wealth of opportunities for outdoor activities, such as walking, mountain biking and horse riding. Nearby, you can join the Offa’s Dyke path which is a 177-mile trail following the dramatic scenery of the English/Welsh border, with some breath taking views. For something different, head to the small, market town of Hay-on-Wye (12.5 miles), which is famous for its book shops and has a literary festival every May/June. The Welsh town of Abergavenny with its gorgeous backdrop of Sugarloaf Mountain is also nearby (9 miles) and is on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
