Set amidst glorious Cornish countryside, 12 miles east of St Ives and 6 miles east of Hayle, this charming stone cottage will have friends, families and pets hankering for cream teas and seaside fun. The huge stretch of sand at Hayle is home to two sublime dog-friendly beaches – Upton Towans has space to run free and Mexico Towans is backed by dunes and is brilliant for bodyboarding. Gwithian Beach (5 miles) allows four-legged friends during the summer. Camborne (3.5 miles) and Hayle have some superb independent shops, restaurants, galleries and canine-friendly pubs. Seal-watch from exquisite Mutton Cove and around Godrevy Lighthouse (both 5 miles).

Inside, you’ll find a bright and spacious interior, perfect for exuberant hounds and youngsters to scoot around. After days of sea, sand, shopping and breathtaking scenery, gather in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner for nights of wine, reminiscence and wagging tails. Prepare sumptuous seafood feasts in the streamlined country kitchen, and savour them around the table or al fresco in the fabulous enclosed garden. Unwind with bubbles, sunsets and birdsong in the hot tub before steamy soaks in the upstairs bathroom and dreamy sleeps in the three first-floor bedrooms, all adorned with local art. Kids will adore the outdoor play area.

Find more marvellous dog-friendly beaches at dramatic and rocky Deadman’s Cove (7.5 miles), Trevaunance Cove at St Agnes (17 miles), sheltered and delightful Porthmeor Cove (17.5 miles – go at low tide) and Gwynver Beach at Newlyn (20.5 miles). Hike around St Agnes Head to magnificent Towanroath and Wheal Coates tin mine, for magical memories that will bring you back again and again. Unwind at beautiful St Ives, discover the delights of St Michael’s Mount and Marazion (8.5 miles), and wander the winding streets of Penzance (12 miles), Newlyn (13 miles) and Mousehole (16.5 miles).

• There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.
