This pretty cottage, situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park in quiet village Llanfrynach, is the perfect romantic hideaway – with room for up to two pups. Sleeping in a beautiful bedroom and with underfloor heating that the dogs will love snoozing on, you could all soon be enjoying a walk around the extensive communal grounds that include a meadow. Enjoy a luxurious massage in the treatment studio while the canines relax in their crates, before heading out to the garden for a quiet al fresco drink as the sun goes down behind the trees.
The property, which is located in a private estate with four other cottages and the manor house, has plenty of character. The kitchen and dining area is fresh and bright, while painted beams and a cosy sofa in the living area invite you to sink back in front of the wood burner with the dogs by your feet. Upstairs, the bedroom is a luxurious place to return to after a long day; exposed stone walls give it an earthy country feel, and the sumptuous dressing room offers an ideal space for you to prepare for the day. Sizzle up a BBQ out in the enclosed garden in the evenings while watching the hounds play.
If you’re not up for cooking one night, pop down to the dog-friendly pub for a locally-sourced meal just 1.5 miles away. Go slightly further to Brecon for a choice of restaurants, cafes and bars. Garwnant Visitor Centre (17 miles) offers plenty of trails for you and the canines to enjoy and is situated within geologically-significant Fforest Fawr Geopark. Get your permit for a quiet fishing trip along the River Usk in Crickhowell (13 miles), or hire some canoes in Glasbury (14 miles) and canoe down the River Wye while the dogs doze at home.
