Set in the northernmost village in the Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, this three-bed property which sleeps up to four guests and two canine companions is an excellent base for exploring West Norfolk’s market towns, sandy beaches and nature reserves. During your stay, you can take advantage of the extensive on-site facilities and enjoy the property’s decked garden and spacious lounge.
The upside-down layout of this lodge means that the living spaces are on the first floor. The bright lounge with a vaulted ceiling is filled with natural light through the skylights and Juliet balcony doors. Tones of red and brown decorate the predominantly neutral-toned space and there are two plump sofas for cosy evenings with a glass of wine. Across the hall is the airy kitchen/diner with a compact ‘L’-shaped fitted kitchen unit and a formal wooden dining table with seating for six. Downstairs you’ll find the family bathroom plus two bedrooms – a king-size with a TV, French doors leading to the garden and an en-suite plus a double bedroom. Outside is a decked area with furniture. You’ll also have access to the facilities which are shared with other guests on the complex – consisting of an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, gym, fishing lake and 18-hole golf course. There is also an on-site bar, restaurant and cafe.
While staying in the village of Tydd St Giles you could head to the dog-friendly Wash Viewpoint for some bird watching and visit the historical Inner Tidal Bank (both within 14.5 miles). Visit the bustling, riverside market town of King’s Lynn (15.5 miles). Explore the 400 acres of country park and gardens at Sandringham Estate (22 miles) and take Fido for a dip at Snettisham Beach (25 miles).
